Entrance reducer, full closure, 375 mm

The reducer is an inconspicuous element placed at the hive's entrance, but its role cannot be overestimated. It consists of two parts: a fixed part, which is permanently attached to the hive, and a movable part, which can be moved to adjust the size of the outlet.

This seemingly simple design has many uses:

• Regulating bee flow: Allows the movement of bees in and out of the hive to be controlled. It can be used to gradually restrict the exit of bees before transporting the hive or to protect against robbery when there is a barren period in the apiary.
• Pest protection: The bolt provides a barrier to rodents and intruders who want to get into the hive and disturb the bees.
