In the same way, in the spring before swarming, a significant increase in temperature can be observed, which is a clear signal to the beekeeper of the need to take appropriate preventive actions.
This mechanism significantly improves the organization of work in the apiary, giving additional time to react and make final adjustments during the planned work. We know that one of the biggest threats to the proper wintering of a bee colony is excessive moisture and improper ventilation. By using a dome, for example, made of the felt mat, we create a natural buffer that delays the sudden contact of cold and heat. This allows moisture to be absorbed and then dry out.
