More info

In the rich offer of the Beekeeping Company Tomasz Łysoń you will also find silicon moulds which enable you to prepare beeswax candles by yourself. Silicon moulds are made of flexible and durable silicone with plastic properties which enable their multiple use. Before refilling the mould with liquid wax, it is recommended to spray it with silicone spray. Silicone is also a preservative for the mould and a factor which facilitates the removal of finished candles. The variety of the offered patterns of moulds will guarantee you preparation of the candle for any occasion.

Ready beeswax candles can be freely decorated with the recently popular decoupage technique or with natural products, e.g. coffee beans, etc The prepared candle can be gently sprinkled with silicone spray, which will make it shine. During the preparation of candles, you can "ennoble" the candles a little by adding aromatic oils intended for candles to the still liquid wax. Candles made in this way will be an extraordinary decoration, as well as an original gift for family and friends.

Recipe how to make a beeswax candle in few simple steps:

You will need:

  •          Silicon mould,
  •          a wick with appropriate thickness, fit for the size of the candle (the larger the candle, the thicker the wick)
  •          elastic band
  •          toothpick
  •          silicone spray (optional) The mold can be sprayed inside with silicone spray, if the pattern is more difficult it will be easier to remove it.

1. Preparing the mould

If you are casting candles with a complicated pattern, you need to sprinkle it on the inside with silicone spray, it will be easier to remove the finished candle from the mould. Then we cut off the appropriate length of the wick (it must be longer than the mould) and pull it through the centre of the mould. The next step is to put an elastic band on the mould. Finally, stick a toothpick into the end of the wick and tighten it well.

2. Pouring wax onto the mould

Dissolve the wax in a pot (preferably enamelled). Before pouring, the wax should have an appropriate temperature of approx. 60 ° C. It should not be too cold or too hot. Pour the wax with a slow stream so that it reaches all the hollows. The stiffening time of the wax depends on the size of the silicon mould.

3. Removing the candle from the mould

When the wax cools down and it is already cold, remove the rubber bands, open the mould and gently take out the candle. Then take out the toothpick and cut the wick at the base, and leave approx 1 cm. The final stage of finishing the candle is "dressing" the bottom of the candle with a knife and the end of the wick can be dipped in warm wax.

Recommendations for the use of the mould:

When casting from moulds, precautions should be taken, bearing in mind that you are working with a hot substance.

To make it easier to remove the candle from the mould, it is recommended to spray the mould with silicone spray. The wick should be put into the mould before pouring and it should be slightly tight. Before pouring wax, the mould should be tied with a string or rubber bands to pour the mould. In order to pour the mould. use liquid wax heated to 50 ° C - the mould should be properly protected against wax spillage.

The manufacturer is not responsible for situations resulting from improper use.
